Throughout 2016, we’ll have limited places available for groups to get involved in building our new training centre.

“Building Community” is an ambitious project showcasing the potential of so-called ‘hard to reach’ and vulnerable adults quite literally building their own community training facilities.

Who can get involved?

Everyone! We want everyone to have a chance to get involved in ‘Building Community’, but this opportunity is for groups of 8-12 adults. If you’re not part of a group, we have other opportunities for you

Groups start in May or September, 1 day a week, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays, and programmes last for 9 consecutive weeks.

Get involved with sustainable building methods that will involve round pole timber framing, straw bale wall construction, wood work, power and hand tool use

Construction skills

Develop skills in working on a live construction site developing awareness of health and safety whilst enjoying traditional building methods and working with groups

We’ll provide your group with training in both cutting-edge and traditional building skills, as well as land-management. We’ll also provide accredited training outcomes
