Our inclusive and participant-led approach to
accredited learning enables us to support a wide range of groups from very diverse backgrounds. We have a 13 year track record in working with so-called ‘hard to reach’ groups through a supportive and relationship centred approach. In a nutshell, we believe that even the most so-called ‘hard to reach’ people can thrive given a supportive and genuinely relationship centred approach which is based on meaningful and practical activities. It just so happens that hands-on, sustainable activities are a win-win solution both for the people we work with and the wider community/environment.

More

Although our specialism is vulnerable groups, our method of working is just as suitable for learners from formal learning and other mainstream institutions.  In fact, we are always taken aback by how similar the responses are to our programmes, regardless of the background of the participants.  We know (and the testimonials, clinical research and external evaluations back this up) that whether you’re looking for a programme for mature students on a final year degree programme or for young people from homeless organisation, we can offer you a learning experience that will leave you wanting to come back for more.

Taster days

We can offer fantastic 1 day experiences for groups of all ages and sizes with the “Down to Earth Experience” – tree climbing, fire lighting, team challenges, stick carving and lots more…

And we can offer taster days in adventure activities – just have a look on our “Adventures” page to find out more.

Whether you’re fitting our day into a wider programme of events or would like to check whether you group will like what we offer (which they will!) before committing to a longer term programme, just get in touch and we can tailor make a day for you.

Long & short term programmes

We understand that real change happens with the building of relationships and trust, so our longer term programmes are ideal for bringing out the best in people.  Normally 1 day a week (though consecutive days are possible), groups can come to Down to Earth for tailor made programmes that are based on the needs of the participants and the referral agency/funder.

This is our bread and butter and what we’ve developed an excellent track record in delivering over the past 13 years.  As we believe in nurturing both the confidence and voice of our participants, don’t take our word for it, check out these videos with what our participants say

AC FC Port (no strap)Accreditation

Down to Earth is an Approved Agored Cymru centre which means we can offer accredited outcomes to all our participants.

We can offer standard alone units and QCF recognised qualifications.

We have created workbooks which require the minimum writing as most of our evidence is based on photographs.

As a result, our accredited programmes are very accessible and with a wide range of units in our portfolio we can normally let the group of participants choose the unit they want accreditation in.
